Pump, Store, Feed, Care Solution
To help busy mums, Lansinoh has come up with the concept of Pump, Store, Feed and Care to help give mums freedom to feed their nutritious breast milk when you are not around.
Pump
Pumping is ideal if you’re away from your baby for reasons like going back to work. For your baby to get the benefits of breast milk all day, mum needs to express her breast milk and store it for feeding. To do this you’re going to need a pump.
There are three pumps available; The manual, The single electric or The double electric – but which one to buy?
The manual pump is a hand pump which are affordable, quiet, small and light, making it a perfect travelling companion. Here at Lansinoh we have designed our manual pump as a pump to be used whilst travelling giving you the opportunity to discretely and quietly express milk when you’re out and about. Read more about the Lansinoh Manual breast pump here:
The single electric breast pump is quicker at expressing breast milk than a manual breast pump and it eliminates the possibility of hand fatigue. It’s designed to mimic your baby’s natural feeding pattern for an efficient pumping experience. The new Lansinoh single electric breast pump also enables you to tailor your comfort levels which will help to increase your milk production. The double electric breast pump is the quickest and most effective breast pump. With all the benefits of using a single electric pump, a double electric breast pump allows you to express both breasts at once, making your overall pumping time quicker. The Lansinoh double electric breast pump can also be used as a single electric breast pump if desired and offers three of the most effective pumping styles to choose from, that can be tailored for your comfort. At Lansinoh all our breast pumps come with our new wide neck bottle which is compatible between different pumps, lids and teats –allowing you total flexibility to pump, store and feed your baby!
Store
As mentioned above Lansinoh has a wide neck bottle available in all of our pumps, which is compatible across our range. With this in mind it gives mums the opportunity to pump their breast milk and store it in the bottle with the lid (which is included in Lansinoh pumps) and place in the fridge for feeding later. Top Tip! When placing your milk in the fridge, place it in the coldest part of the fridge not in the door to stop it from spoiling.
Another option is to use Lansinoh’s Milk Storage Bags, these can be placed at the back of the fridge or they can be placed in the freezer. To avoid freezer burn, as much air as possible should be removed before freezing, by taking the bag between your fingers and pressing the air above the liquid towards the zipper. Milk storage bags can be placed upright or flat in the freezer and if placed in the coldest part of the freezer can be frozen up to 6 months. Top Tip! To avoid the milk storage backs sticking together place kitchen towel in-between to stop them from leaking. Read more about Lansinoh’s Milk Storage Bags here: http://bit.ly/1qiixrf
Feed
Also available in all of Lansinoh’s pumps is the new NaturalWave™ teat which can be attached to the wide neck bottle. Lansinoh’s new bottle and teat enables established breast feeding patterns allowing your baby to go to breast to bottle and back again. Meaning once back at work, for example, your child can be bottled fed with your precious breast milk, then once back at home you can have the pleasure of breastfeeding your little one. Care
Finally don’t forget, you need to look after mums too! During breastfeeding and pumping, your breasts will need a bit of care. At Lansinoh we have plenty of products to help you care for your breasts.
Our most famous product is our Lansinoh HPA Lanolin as it’s one of the purest lanolins with only one ingredient, 100% natural without preservatives or additives and its naturally hypoallergenic. Lansinoh HPA® Lanolin Nipple Cream has been specially developed to help soothe and protect sore, cracked nipples in breastfeeding mothers. Unlike many nipple creams, Lansinoh HPA® Lanolin does not need to be removed before breastfeeding. Top Tip! Try Lansinoh’s HPA Lanolin on other areas, it’s a great lip balm and can also be used to help nappy rash.
A product ideal to use with your pump is Lansinoh Therapearl 3-in-1 Breast Therapy. Therapearl 3 in 1 breast therapy brings advanced relief for a number of conditions associated with breastfeeding. Therapearl can be used hot or cold and has also been specially designed to fit around your breast pump to encourage let down and promote faster milk flow. Top Tip! There are two available in pack, you can place one in the freezer and keep the other one out to place in the microwave. This product also won silver in this years “Loved by Parents Awards” for best innovative maternity product.
And finally for when you’re not pumping or breastfeeding: Lansinoh disposable nursing pads. Lansinoh Disposable Nursing Pads have an ultra-thin but super-absorbent core and are contoured for a natural fit that won’t show under clothing. The soft, stay-dry lining draws milk away from the skin and into the core of the pad where it is absorbed by a special layer to prevent leakage. The pads also have two non-slip adhesive tapes so that the pad stays in place, this is the only breast pad that keeps its shape when wet. The Lansinoh nursing pads are hygienically wrapped for cleanliness and convenience – perfect to slip into your bag when out and about.
